do you guys ever think about how dan almost came out to his family at christmas in 2018. that makes me so much more unwell over him visiting the lesters beforehand. he needed a reminder that even if it went poorly he still had a family.

there is actually such a sadness in katherine asking jack if he wants to go to art school and specifically he says “that ain’t what i want” bc art is this thing he is cursed with being good at the expense of himself being seen. and then when she asks what he wants he says “can’t you see it in my eyes?” guys he just wants to been seen for his actual self and looked at :/ cause if she’s looking at his eyes she’s looking at him :///

PSPSPS HEARD❗❗

first, just to get some of my true and correct canon lore out of the way:

chit “rabble rouser revolutionary” sang. full stop.

he also fought in the final battle and was at zuko’s coronation

he's actually covered in tattoos. the animators just put all of their budget into drawing aang's obv

he "adopted" zuko for the hoots and the hollers

he's not a himbo

he is babygirl tho

and now for more: he's a leader. just arguably a mediocre one, depending on the day. in fact, chit sang's skillset is probably more honed to being the strategic fall guy (see: taking the warden's abuse to buy sokka more time and then picking a scapegoat to lead them off their trail), but the other prisoners respect him and are willing to follow his leadership as needed (ex: RIOT moment)

the warden hasn't broken his spirit. not for the warden's lack of trying, certainly. but even then he's still capable of mustering up enough spite to get off the ground and walk back to his cell. he won't give the warden the satisfaction of being dragged back

he has a keen eye. obviously his little zukka comment was a joke, but he was the first one to pick up on how serious the two's feelings for each other became. it's just that no one asked him for his opinion, and so he never cared to share it lol

(that's a lie. sokka did try to sneakily talk about it with him once, and then got so flustered over almost naming what he was feeling that he dropped the convo immediately. chit sang just shrugged and moved on)

he's arrogant, but also charismatic. sokka literally had no qualms in shutting down any and all adults who tried to cross him the wrong way. the worry chit sang would've squealed on them otherwise is bogus, sokka just liked the cut of his jib (perhaps it's because chit sang reminded him of another headstrong rebellious firebender.....)

and petty as hell lol. sokka and zuko appreciate him for this, especially as they grow into politics and need that one person to reliably go "shit's fucked. want me to set fire to their house?"

toph loves him btw. chit sang is the only person in history to become a beloved advisor for two nations: zuko (for the laffs) and toph (serious request)

(sokka once tried to get his dad to make him one for the swt too. hakoda laughed and changed the subject. katara also said no when she took over as chief)

he's a master firebender!! there was never a possibility of him teaching aang, nor would he have wanted to, but aang is keenly aware of this fact every time he sees chit sang firebend.

he tolerates iroh. the guy's alright. he prefers spending time with hakoda and bato. iroh likes him though.

he tolerates puns even less. no one understands how he's stayed such close friends with sokka and zuko. or how he's in the white lotus, considering *gestures at king bumi* (it's bc king bumi and him have a thing going on)

izumi did not like him at first. but as she grew up she and him forged a bond so strong that zuko once had to tell him "you can't just show up to her school and intimidate the kids she doesn't like. why are you letting her ask you that. why are you doing it"

his love languages are acts of service and words of affirmation. quality time used to be a big one but lessened as he learned how to be his own person again post-boiling rock, but one thing that sticks with him is the fear of being forgotten. he greatly appreciates the letters zuko and sokka and sometimes suki send him, and he's known for responding back quickly.

the first thing he'll do when showing up on his doorstep is ask if you've eaten. he's not the best cook by far, but if there's one thing you can count on is that chit sang will always make sure his loved ones' stomachs are full.

and, obviously, he supports the ligbits. bc he is one himself, duh. [except i can't find the original post saying this and i'm crying a little]

hey chip will you tell me your Chit Sang headcanons so we can also tap Kath on the shoulder :D

hello newsies tumblr! i’m back to post a scene i found in a random wip folder, from a fic that will probably never exist in full lol

"...and I know we don't pray the same way, you and I, but your folks said you might not mind it if I sat with you and did this. Only one God, ain't there, so I figures we can ask Him for all the help we can get, every which way. Ain’t no harm in extra prayers."

That's Jack's voice.

David is awake, sort of, but too tired to open his eyes. His body is itchy, but he's too tired to scratch himself. His throat burns, so he doesn't dare try and speak.

He just lays there.

"This was my Ma's." He's placing something in David's hand. A string of beads, it feels like. "I should take the time to sit and pray it more often. She carried it everywhere. Only thing I've got left of her, really."

He wraps the beads around David's palm.

"You start at the bottom, see," Jack continues, as if he knows David's listening, "and you say a prayer for every bead. And you gotta have an intention, right— mine for today is that I'm asking God to get you better, 'cause you're starting to scare everyone, Dave, what with how you just keep getting sicker and the fever won't break. We can't go losing you anytime soon, so you've gotta get yourself better as soon as you can."

He's very sick, David realizes. That's why he can't move.

He's a bit scared.

But it's hard to stay scared for long with Jack Kelly holding your hand, so he starts to feel calm again.

"In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti," Jack murmurs.

David hadn’t realized Jack knew Latin. Wonders where he learned it, since he would've left school before the grades they started teaching it. He only went to school until he was eight— he told David that.

"Credo in Deum, Patrem omnipotentem, Creatorem caeli et terrae..."

Jack continues on in words that David's tired brain can't make sense of, but it's rhythmic and soothing. There's a cadence to it like Jack doesn't actually know what he's saying, has just memorized the sounds, probably at church— it's like how David felt about some Hebrew prayers when he was little, just echoing back what he heard others speak.

From bead to bead, Jack mumbles quiet prayers, and David finds himself, somewhere in his fever-addled brain, feeling quite charmed and grateful that Jack would show him this private, vulnerable side of himself. His faith is deeply personal to him, David knows— it's there in the way he never puts on his arrogant show towards the nuns, the way he's quick to take his cap off even on the steps of the church, the way he scrubs the littlest newsies into their very best shape on Saturday nights and drags them to mass on Sunday mornings. David loves to watch him in those short moments before he eats his dinner each day, lips moving silently as he gives thanks.

It's a softer side of Jack Kelly that often stays well-hidden, but makes itself very endearing when it peeks through.

"I think I might be praying for a miracle," Jack sighs, after a long time of quiet whispering, counting along the beads. His voice is a bit shaky now. "But they happens, you know. They said so in the good book. I know it's the very same God lookin' after you and I, and I know He loves you and won't take you away from us here on Earth, not just yet. Ain't your time."

And he takes the beads from David's palm, replacing them with his own hand. He intertwines their fingers and squeezes.

David tries to squeeze back. It's weak, pitiful, but enough for Jack to gasp.

"I knew it," he whispers. "Oh, I knew it, I knew it, Dave. You're there, ain't you? You're listening."

And David wishes he could give him anything more, but he can feel sleep creeping up on him again, so he lets it come. Not much else he can do, but it's nice to hear some hope in Jack's voice.

thank you, Lord! You've been so faithful to our family, from the times that we reached rock bottom to where we are now, it is You who helped us to move forward and push us through. we did encounter struggles that challenged our faith but You are still faithful to your people. i passed the board exam, i'm now employed, ate had a successful operation, ate's mental health became more stable and she's happier now, mama and tatay's small business is booming, our cookie business is doing good, we traveled as a family, and we are healthy and went to year 2025 without being sick! thank you Lord!

our family has been very blessed this 2024, and i am praying for more blessings, provisions, and beautiful plans from You this 2025 🤍

The way she cradles Sasa, her only source of comfort...? On the worst day of her life after Anil has seemingly left her for another woman and she's going to marry a man she despises while her friend is telling her to smile? Only Sasa can comfort her now; of course Pin will cling to the small connection she has left to the love of her life as hard as she can. Breaks my heart every time.

The end of the WW2 'verse was a close contender, but this scene absolutely obliterated me when it happened. I could feel the dawning horror as I noticed the ocean receding, and I was already feeling my heart break when I realized I was going to watch both Kath and Lin realize the same thing. And then I watched it. And my heart still really hasn't recovered even now.

Meet the rouge cryptek gang

They all said fuck society and went of to make there own in another galaxy far far away. If they’ll been successful can be debated, but nether the less there still kicking.

The four members of the family were going about their makeshift routine wen Hefro picked up a somewhat distorted radio signal, sent by a necron from a chip that did clearly not luck like a necron ship.

Hefro: Radio specialist and head of security. She is the one supplying the gang with sharp tools and weaponry for self protection. But wen she’s not doing that Hefro is either studying poetry ( sometimes even writing it )and ore making music, as she got an somewhat uncanny understanding and liking of rhythm.

Leptwe : A technomanser specializing in necron body modification. They are quite a jumpy person that likes to switch between different projects there working on simultaneously. They also have a huge interest in folklore and mythical beasts. As of fact Leptwe’s current from was heavily inspired by a cryptid they took a liking to.

Kitro: A biomancer and a botany mancer, two fields you can probably guess wouldn’t be the most appreciated in necron society. He is a charismatic little bundle of joy and has an somewhat unusual need for physical contact with people. Something he’s thankfully not been hindered from getting.

Nipp: A nifty little ( hamburger shaped ) scarab. Given their current name by a habit of nipping anyone they or the gang do not approve of.

Cage: A tall looming figure ho will stare at you and repeat voices of the long gone past. The hunting voice. Okay in all seriousness ( despite their habit of hanging in the corner) they are a quite polite fellow, who is just happy to be included. They regularly accompany the gang on their small little adventures, and likes to help out we’re ever they might be needed . They sometimes imitate small sounds with their voice, but they have never spoken with a voice one could call their own. Instead they prefer communicating more complex subjects via singe.

Esmp2 fwhimmy breaks up and jimmy dates pirate joe after (they flirted once. The only other people who have are bascially just scott [known criminal] and sausage [joels co parent] and he IS NOT stooping that low, he tells himself. Somehow the other criminal is better + he was into.....whatever happned in that jail cell.) (He also wants to make fwhip jealous)

Katherine and Shelby are helpless but to watch as the love triangle becomes a square

When the hermits come over fWhip steals Tango in return. So Jimmy adds Scar to the polycule in reposnse.

i really love mundane headcanons that dont particularly affect or change a character but are very endearing and personal. like a character having a peanut allergy or really liking top 40 music. so silly and fun please keep doing that !!!
